Pale gold. Crisp scents of peach, ripe pear and dried apricot. Plump and juicy on the palate, with a clean, brisk peach flavor that is in no way cloying. Impressive for its svelte, focused character (too much sweet muscat comes off as flabby!). Finishes with focus and pretty floral notes. this was an outstandingly delicious wine. extremely versatile as it wasnt too sweet and fairly light textured. could almost be served with fish, why im not sure, but in my opinion, it was that flexible. the flavor was crisp, fruity, pearish and floral, specifically, i believe i detected violet...excellent wine.
I was very happy to have tasted this wine. Torbeck is a huge name in Australian wine, with most of there reds selling over 200$ a bottle. Also please check out there website, I wish more winers would copy there model. You get detailed information about the wine and the vineyard it comes from. Very cool stuff.
From the smell it reminded me of a crisp chardonnay or a champagne. The taste was very balanced. The wine maker was careful not to over sweeten the wine as many muscats tend to be. This makes it a crisps, light and refreshing wine.
