october meeting - bubbles!

We tried
Nebbia sparkling wine
Schramsberg blanc de noirs brut 2004
La Reve Domaine Carneros by Taittinger blanc de blancs brut 2000

I believe everyone liked them all but you can comment yourselves. My favorite was the La Reve. Yummmmm. Good food, good wine, good peoples.

all were completely different and really good. my favorite was schramsberg... la reve is in fact a dream, and absolutely delicious and completely drinkable with anything or nothing, however, im not the biggest fan of blanc de blacs and not a brut fan, but i am a fan of both these sparklings. la reve was a classic french style quality wine. schramsberg, while brut was not overly fizzy, not overly brut, it was fruity, sweet and lovely. the nebbia was much more a spumante style, light sweet pear cidery beverage. excellent in its own right.

There's a nice, somewhat windy road that leads to this winery. The good thing was, it's a good stopping point before arriving at Princeton by the Sea. For $6, you get to keep your wine glass as well as sample 9 different wines (3 reds, 3 whites, 3 muscat dessert wines). Also, you can also play a free game of Bocce ball with the purchase of a bottle of wine or glass of wine. Quite the experience if you ask me. The bottles of wine are fairly decent priced too... we bought a bottle of Cabernet (from Lodi) for $8 and a white wine for $8 as well. Also, they have certain "Wine and Cork" days, full bottle filled up for $4.99. I like to drink this with the Best Cigars.
